Already in his young years he finished not only the School of Arts and Graphics and the Academy of Fine Arts but also the University. 20 years old he was top-favorite student of Prof. Roessler. Alongside this he studied under Prof. Paranowsky, Enderlein and Richard Muller. Vad Ed undertook extensice trips to England, Portugal, Spain, The Canaries, the French Marokko and Italy, where he resided in Naples for some time. When World War II was over he exhibited in Dresden, Leipzig and Berlin several times, earned various prizes and medals and in 1946 he was appointed as a Professor at the local Academy. His pictures are to be found as property of the Governmental Art Gallery at Dresden and the Moritzburg Museum. From fall 1955 Van Ed worked in Western Germany where he made his name known by participating at various exhibitions especially in Wiesbaden.
